Kloof SPCA inspector ensures Marley finds a ‘furever’ home

The loving pooch, Marley, was returned twice to the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

FOLLOWING a tragic loss of its owners, one killed in a home invasion and the other succumbing to Covid-19, a bouncy and friendly Marley has finally found a loving home.

The two-year-old was first brought into the SPCA after his owner died.

“He was adopted, but was returned to the SPCA,” said the Kloof and Highway SPCA’s manager, Barbara Patrick.

The search for a home started again and this time Marley was adopted by a loving couple who were so excited to have him.

“Sadly, one of Marley’s new owners passed away due to Covid-19 and he was returned to the SPCA for a second time,” said Patrick.

Marley, described as a dog full of life and one that would bounce over to anyone who would give him a treat and a cuddle, was left without a home.

“This left Tania, as well as all the other staff, heartbroken. Not only for Marley, but for his new family who had suffered a great loss,” said Patrick.

Marley was once again looking for his forever home.

“We were saddened at the loss that Marley had had to endure but he never stopped wagging his tail, loving his walks, and bouncing around,” said Patrick.

The caring inspector was determined to find him his home and took every person to meet the excitable pooch.

“As time went by, we started to wonder if Marley would ever have his happy ending, but Tania never gave up on Marley – not even for a second,” said Patrick.

On Saturday, September 18, Marley left the Kloof and Highway SPCA for his final forever home. Patrick noted that Marley was lucky to have an owner who would never give up on him and would never stopped thinking about him.
