Willman shares his he’art’ with HACT
The world-renowned photographer has chosen the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust as one of the five South African charities that will benefit from his fine art online auction.
THE world-renowned documentary photographer, Matthew Willman has chosen the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust (HACT) to be one of five South African non-profit organisations to benefit from his exclusive fine art auction that is currently running online until the end of August.
An award-winning and internationally acclaimed documentary photographer, author and speaker, some of Matthew’s private photographic commissions include US Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton; six South African presidents, including Nelson Mandela; former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan; Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Annie Lennox. Others include 22 presidents, 12 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates and a host of local and international sports personalities, musicians, politicians and philanthropists.

As a long-standing friend and supporter of HACT, particularly the organisation’s Woza Moya programme, to which he has lent his photographic expertise to on numerous occasions over the years, Willman is hoping to help raise significant funds for the charity to continue its life-saving and life-changing work.
“My association with HACT’s Woza Moya programme, and it’s executive manager, Paula Thomson, goes back longer than I care to imagine. Paula and her team do incredible work uplifting and empowering people, particularly local women, through exceptional arts and crafts, and it’s my privilege to be supporting them through the online auction,” he said.
