Woza Moya launches blooming beautiful exhibit

Add some colour to your home with the fabulous artwork from Woza Moya's latest exhibition.

SPRUCE up your home with the brightest of colours with fabulous works of art from Woza Moya’s Bloom where you are planted exhibition.

You can expect to find flowers, flower paintings, beaded flower painting, wirework flowers, carved angels holding proteas and bridal flowers.

“This exhibition was sponsored in part by the National Arts Council and in part Mama Africa, one of our long-standing German customers, to try to put as much funding back into the community as possible,” said Woza Moya’s executive manager, Paula Thomson.

The non-profit organisation hosted a flower workshop where all of its beadworkers were taught to make beaded flowers and were encouraged to come up with their own unique designs.

Each one of the flowers made during the workshop was then added to a bedazzling group artwork piece. It was the beadworkers who showed potential who were encouraged and assisted to design a flower necklace or accessory.

“Wireworkers were encouraged to come up with new flower prototypes and we now have Hibiscus and St Joseph’s Lilly’s and we have also opened up the exhibition to artists in the community who have submitted flower paintings,” said Thomson.

But first, take a selfie! For social media fans, there is a beautiful flower wall photo booth. The exhibit will run until Tuesday, July 20 and can be viewed from 8:00 to 16:00 from Monday to Friday and from 8:00 to 14:00 every Saturday. Contact 031 765 5866.
