Kloof SPCA removes venomous Mozambique Spitting Cobra from Upper Highway home

The highly venomous snake measured in at 1.21m.

KLOOF and Highway SPCA’s inspector, Israel Silevu was called out to remove a Mozambique Spitting Cobra from a home in KwaNgcolosi after 23.00 recently.

The dedicated animal welfare staff member was told over the phone by the home owner that she found a “big snake” in her house.

Upon arrival, Silevu completed a search and found the reptile inside a kitchen cupboard. It was 1.21m. He said the snake was not injured and was in a healthy condition.

“Thank you to the community for no longer killing the snakes and for calling the Kloof and Highway SCPA for assistance,” said Silevu.

The snake was released the following day in an unspecified, safe location.
