“This is a global event and thus far we have received R40 000 which was used to purchase the food which we have packed in 745 jars. Each jar contains a meal for four people. The containers are filled with a mixture of rice, soup mix, lentils, stock cubes and soup powder. Recipients only need to add 2.5l of water and cook it,” said the club’s president, Dennis Wesley.

According to Wesley, there are currently more than 821 million people who do not have enough to eat.

On the day, other supporters attended to participate in the World Hunger Day campaign.
