The food is distributed to the needy in the community. What’s more the society said they depend on donations to keep running. With the Covid-19 pandemic, social worker, Nomfundo Khumalo said more people are desperate and knocking on their doors for assistance.

“It is so heartbreaking to turn them away empty-handed,” she said.

All donations are welcome, however, the welfare society especially needs nappies, baby milk powder, canned food, baby cereals, samp, beans, sugar, tea, bathing soap and toothpaste. To assist, contact the welfare office on 031 701 3288.
