Kloof resident plants trees for 60th birthday
To celebrate his 60th birthday, Kloof Project chairman, Chris Dalzell bought 60 trees, invited family and friends to help him plant them.
NATURE lover, Chris Dalzell, who is also the chairman of the Kloof Project, created a lasting legacy in celebration of his 60th birthday.
Dalzell, who turned 60 on Sunday, 21 February bought 60 indigenous trees and invited friends and family to help him plant them in Kloof at the weekend.

On Saturday, 40 trees were planted and 20 on Sunday.
Dalzell said due to Covid-19 regulations, he could not host a party.
“For me planting trees was the best celebration as I love and care for the environment,” he said.
The Kloof resident, who has green fingers, said he encourages people to plant trees for their birthdays.
“People need to put money into the environment, without trees, there would be no oxygen, no birds and butterflies. Trees supply us with shade,” he said.

“Trees beautify the area. Kloof is the most treed suburb. Last year, the Kloof Project planted 700 trees. We always encourage people to plant indigenous trees to bring back bird life and get rid of alien invasive plants” said the famous horticulturist.
The Kloof project is made up of a group of enthusiastic and dedicated Kloof residents who go around doing everything they can to beautify the Kloof area.
