IEB matric results: St Benedict celebrates 100 per cent pass rate
The school's 2020 dux and deputy headgirl, Deosha Moodley, achieved a perfect full house of As.
Despite an extremely challenging and emotional academic year, the Matric Class of 2020 excelled and did themselves and the St Benedict Community proud by achieving a 100 per cent pass rate.
The school’s 2020 Dux and deputy head girl, Deosha Moodley, achieved a perfect full house of As (more than 80 per cent).

Furthermore, the class achieved a remarkable 11 per cent A aggregates and almost 20 per cent of all individual subject results were an A symbol.
“The school is very grateful and blessed to have achieved such wonderful results, however, we trust that we have gone further than just educating our matric class for matric results and have taught them the softer skills of perseverance, working in collaboration with others, problem-solving, tolerance of different views, critical engagement with ideas, responsibility and moral sensitivity,” said principal, Dr Barbara Bowley.
“These, together with the solid academic foundation received, will make this group of SBS students valuable South African citizens who can cope with life after matric,” she added.
The school wished all matric students a happy and successful future. “May you taste wisdom and leave a positive mark on all those who you encounter on your journey called life,” said Bowley.
