IEB 2020 matric results: Thomas More College
A total of 21 learners from the school achieved A aggregates in 2020.
IT was a morning of jubilation at Thomas More College as learners achieved a 100 per cent pass rate and a 94 per cent Bachelor’s Degree pass.
A aggregates were achieved by 21 learners and 28 learners achieved B aggregates.
Its top learner, Lola Lee achieved 7 distinction with an average of 91.7 per cent (Afrikaans FAL: 84 per cent, EGD: 98 per cent, English: 88 per cent, LO: 96 per cent, life sciences: 88 per cent, mathematics: 96 per cent and physical sciences: 92 per cent. Dale Harper achieved seven distinction with an average of 88.3 per cent (Afrikaans FAL: 90 per cent, English: 85 per cent, history: 90 per cent, LO: 91 per cent, life sciences: 89 per cent, mathematics: 89 per cent and physical sciences: 84).

Jan Koegelenberg achieved an average of 86.4 per cent with 6 distinctions (accounting: 79 per cent, Afrikaans FAL: 94 per cent, business studies: 85 per cent, English: 84 per cent, history: 83 per cent, LO: 83 per cent and mathematical literacy: 97 per cent).
Dave Wiggett, the high school headmaster, said, “We are so proud of this grade for continuing to inspire with passion and purpose, despite Covid’s best efforts to thwart such. We thank our staff, academic and all support staff, for the incredible care they afforded every student throughout the year.”
