Meanwhile, most of the private emergency services are making their way to the Road Accident Fund offices.

The KwaZulu-Natal Private Ambulance Association (KZNPAA) made up of 25 emergency services companies is disgruntled about payments which have not been made amounting to over R5 million worth of unpaid services.

Garrith Jamieson, KZNPAA spokesperson said in a statement before the protest: “The already burdened government service relies on private services to deal with motor vehicle collisions. In saying this, however, with non-payment from the Road Accident Fund, private services are struggling to survive.”

According to Jamieson, along with the protest action on Friday, 30 October, members of the private services will only service their respected insured clients which could negatively impact people involved in car accidents.
