Another robbery suspect shot and killed in Pinetown

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was declared dead on scene.

THE intersection between Josiah Gumede Road (Old Main Road) and Anderson Road in Pinetown has once again been the scene of a fatal shooting.

This morning (Thursday, 22 October) around 7am, a robbery suspect was shot and killed by a police officer.

This is the second suspect to be shot and killed in Pinetown within 48 hours.

On Tuesday, a motorist shot one of the three armed suspects who tried to rob him while his vehicle was stationary at the traffic light.

Spokesperson for Rescue Care Paramedics, Rowan Scandroglio said paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man, believed to be in his 20s, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his body.

“The man was assessed by Rescue Care paramedics and there was nothing more paramedics could do for him. He was declared deceased on the scene,” said Scandroglio.
