WATCH: Taxi drivers bring Crompton Street to a standstill

While the situation is calm, it remains volatile with a strong police presence.

TAXI drivers have blockaded Crompton Street demanding the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Bheki Ntuli addresses them regarding their grievances around the multi-billion Rand Go!Durban project.

The MEC was briefing the media and other stakeholders about the status of the project since October is transport month.

He was joined by the EThekwini Metro leadership and senior managers of the eThekwini Transport Authority who were planning on inspecting the state of readiness for the live commission of the Go!Durban project. While the situation is calm, it remains volatile with a strong police presence.
