UPDATE: Suspect shot in the leg during Pinetown high-speed chase
The car was being chased from Pietermaritzburg where it was stolen this morning.

ONE of the suspects who was involved in a high-speed chase earlier today sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
The two suspects were arrested in the Pinetown CBD after being chased by members of the Hilton Flying Squad from the Pietermaritzburg CBD this morning (Wednesday, 14 October).

The suspects were in a car that was stolen from the Pietermaritzburg area today.
Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele said the suspects were chased by police along the N3 highway.

They then turned into the Pinetown CBD where they collided with three other vehicles on the corner of Glenugie Road and Old Main Road (Josiah Gumede) in Pinetown.
“Two suspects were arrested and the police also recovered a gas gun and some of the items belonging to the complainant.”
“One suspect sustained a gunshot wound to the leg,” said Manqele.
The suspects will appear before court soon.
