Suspects crash into vehicles during high-speed chase in Pinetown

The suspects surrendered after their car collided with a second vehicle and came to a standstill.

TWO suspects, allegedly wanted for various crimes in the Pietermaritzburg area, were arrested after being chased by members of a tracking unit company.

During the chase, which reportedly started from Richmond Road, Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios said the suspects’ car hit two vehicles where one of the motorists (a member of the public) had to be extracted by paramedics.

According to Mathios, the suspects then fled onto Josiah Gumede Road (Old Main Road) where they collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Josiah Gumede Road and Glenugie Road in Pinetown.

Mathios said the suspects’ vehicle came to a standstill after crashing into the third vehicle.

The suspects then surrendered. 

Highway Mail has requested comment from Pinetown SAPS.
