Kloof SPCA continues much-needed outreach campaigns during lockdown
The non-profit organisation also booked in several of the animals for sterilisation at its on-site clinic.
A TEAM of Kloof and Highway SPCA’s inspectors and field officers visited the KwaNgcolosi area to continue the organisation’s much-needed lockdown outreach campaign.
The non-profit organisation’s inspectors, Petra Abrams, Tania Ungerer and Sue Noakes, as well as field officers Sibonelo Gasa and Eric Simamane, visited Mgcwini, a remote rural area on the outskirts of KwaNgcolosi.
“Our inspectors and field officers checked the welfare and living conditions of all animals, including dogs, cats, farm animals and poultry. They educated animal owners on basic animal care and distributed education material on sterilisation and vaccinations,” said the organisation’s Brigitte Ferguson.
Several animals were dewormed and treated against fleas and ticks.
Several animals will be booked in for sterilisation through the NPO’s weekly sterilisation campaign at its on-site clinic. This service is offered to animal owners from rural communities who are struggling financially.
“We would like to thank the public and our supporters whose generous donations made it possible for us to distribute blankets and pet food to so many communities in need. Without your support, we cannot continue our fight to prevent cruelty against animals. Every donation, no matter how small, can change an animal’s life,” said Ferguson.
