The NPO was started at the beginning of lockdown by Tracy Klokie and has made a huge difference as they have already distributed approximately 100 tons of food into the communities stretching from Embo in the Upper Highway through to KwaMashu.

Last week Thursday, they visited Little Lambs in Kloof (a registered NPO and transition home for babies and children based in Kloof) to supply some much needed items on the NPO’s wishlist: nappies, toiletries, cleaning supplies, jerseys, soft toys and baby clothes.

Klokie and her team also provided children at Asivuke Soup kitchen in Embo with new lunchboxes, treats and maize-meal to take home. On Mandela Day, Saturday, 18 July, a fantastic celebration of Madiba was held at Tholuthando Children’s Home taking a party to the 52 children in their care; complete with face painters, jumping castle, juice, ice cream, a beautiful cake and fresh pizza.

“This is just some of the generosity shown by our community. Last week alone,we were able to distribute seven tons of food, all donated,” said Klokie.

“We are so grateful to the people, companies and organisations that we have partnered with to make this week so memorable and make such an impact in the community. I am absolutely floored at the immense generosity offered by the local companies that got on board. Thank you for helping us to make a difference,” said a grateful Klokie.
