Mariannhill SAPS seek relatives of murdered woman

The woman's body was found along a foot path on Stockville Road, near the Mariannhill Toll Plaza.

MARIANNHILL police have appealed for assistance to locate the relatives of a woman, believed to be between the ages of 18 to 20, who was found dead on a foot path along Stockville Road, near Giba Gorge.

Colonel Thembeka Mbele, a KZN police spokesman, said that a murder was reported to Mariannhill SAPS on Sunday, 7 June at 6am.

“Upon arrival at the scene, police found the body of a woman with multiple stab wounds. It was established that the deceased was killed in another area and was dumped near Giba Gorge on a foot pathway,” said Mbele.

The body was found by a local resident who was on their way home from work.

“The deceased is dark in complexion, had short hair and had a U silver slit on her upper two incisors. She was wearing navy jeans, a white top with blue flowers and a black belt,” said Mbele.

Mariannhill detectives are investigating a case of murder.

The next of kin of the deceased, or anyone whose relative is missing, is asked to contact Detective Warrant Officer Maluleka on 071 350 0590, 03 791 3214 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
