Durban women unite for a good cause

The ladies said Covid-19 has revealed the importance of the community coming together to support each other.

LADIES from the Methodist Church of Southern Africa Clerpine Circuit Women’s Manyano met to support the less privileged recently.

The women met in Pinetown and distributed food parcels to 24 families.

Thabisile Dlamini said Covid-19 has revealed the importance of the community coming together to support each other.

“The church also has an integral role to play in the community in which it exists. This is hard time for everyone. We asked the executives of the 24 societies under the church to choose one woman who is desperately in need and decided to give out food parcels,” said Dlamini.

She also thanked the leaders of the church, Superintendent Sibusiso Sangweni and his wife, Zodwa for allowing them to be able to help out in the community and teaching them the importance of giving.

Another member of the church, Nomusa Mkhize, thanked the circuit for remembering the disadvantaged and caring for them.

“Most people are really struggling as they are currently out of jobs and have nothing. It is very sad,” said Mkhize.
