Fabulous reads – Romance novel packs a hearty punch

Book review - Rainfall by Melissa Delport.

Rainfall, Melissa Delport, Tracey McDonald Publishers, ISBN: 9780994658678

ASK yourself this: How far would you really go for the one you love?

Paige’s has lost most of her father to Alzheimer’s and its on the really good days that he may remember who she is.

On the other days, which there are many, she is nothing more than a stranger popping into his daily routine.

Her second major loss is when her fiancé is shot and killed in a store robbery gone wrong.

Paige’s character is so strong-willed that she fights her way through depression and looks at life through new eyes.

She finds a way to make the most of each day, whether it is something as exhilarating as bungee jumping or as simple as dancing in the rain.

ALSO READ: Fabulous reads – Novella takes a dark turn

On her way to visit her parents, she bumps into the frighteningly handsome Adam and the two begin a whirlwind romance.

That is until she catches him in bed with another woman.

The book takes on a darker tone as she learns Adam’s best-kept secret and Paige throws her all into helping him receive the treatment he needs.

Again, how far would you go to help save the love of your life?

The protagonist’s character is beautifully written and there is no need for her to be surrounded by a cast of strong support character’s to add to or boost her already vivacious personality.

Without any spoilers, just know that Adam’s character has quite a few layers, and not many of them are as palatable as you’d like.

Rainfall is engaging, intense and will have you gripped from the first page. While I may not have needed any during my read through, tissues are recommended.
