Blue Security media and liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, said the reaction officer had been conducting a patrol around the complex just before 1pm when he noticed two suspects forcing open a roller-shutter door at the back of the premises.

“One of the two suspects pulled out a firearm and fired a shot at the officer,” said Mathios.

Mathios said the officer ran around the other side of the building towards the men.

“The suspect shot at him again. The officer returned fire shooting multiple warning shots into the ground.”
