Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust reaches out with food hampers

The Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust will launch phase two of its emergency relief response this week.

THE team at the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust (HACT) implemented the first phase of a food hamper distribution as part of its local #COVID19 emergency relief response.

“Thanks to all those who supported the recent FutureLife Bambalela Marathon, our team has distributed 3 700kg of food to needy households in Molweni, Ncgolosi and Embo, directly benefiting 295 adults and 371 children,” said the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust’s Claire Hodgkinson.

Through its extensive range of community-based projects and programmes, the dedicated team was able to prioritise child- and gogo-headed households as well as families with one or more orphaned and vulnerable children and ensured the hampers were given to those most in need during the lockdown.
