My father has worked at the SPCA for more than 20 years and animals have always been a part of my life.

What motivated you to apply for the position at the Kloof and Highway SPCA?
My love for animals and my father.

Tell us about one of your most memorable moments since you have been at the NPO:
I cared for a Great Dane named Zeus who was with us for a long time. He was in a bad condition, underweight and scared when he arrived and left happy and healthy to go to his new home!

What inspires you to continue doing what you do?
The changes I get to make in an animal’s life and my incredible team.

Seeing an animal I have cared for go home to start a new life.

The Kloof and Highway SPCA’s Barbara Patrick, said, “I have not met many people like Siya as he has one of the biggest smiles and is always smiling, no matter how bad his day may be. He cares about each one of the dogs in his care and is always there when a dog he has cared for is adopted. No matter what Siya is asked to do, he does it with a beautiful smile. Siya recently looked after a stray duck, who only had eyes for him. He loved her just as much as she did him. Siya is an extra special person and an asset to our Kloof and Highway SPCA.”
