Down to the Woods (Helen Grace #8), M.J. Arlidge, Penguin Random House, ISBN: 9780718183882
DOWN to the woods is an absolutely welcome return to Alridge’s Helen Grace crime-thriller series!
After Love Me Not’s abysmal attempt at keeping me engaged, I was quite apprehensive to give this book a read as the series began to feel a bit long in the tooth. There is nothing better than curling up on a couch and becoming so consumed by a novel as you attempt to figure out who the killer is as each chapter breezes by.

Arlidge seems to have returned to his roots with this novel and it definitely paid off as it has reignited my love for his work.
A killer is on the prowl at a popular local camping spot and leaves behind a body hanging plain sight. Helen and her team have to piece together an intricate puzzle before another innocent civilian becomes prey.
Expect Alridge’s signature punchy chapters – that are usually no more than three pages – and intense mind games as the group of top-notch detectives, all dealing with their own personal demons, go up against a faceless foe.
