Westville Boys' High School's swimming squad claimed the top spot for the 12th consecutive year at the Nestor Pierides Inter-Provincial Gala on Friday.

WESTVILLE Boys’ High School once again took top honours at the Nestor Pierides Inter-Provincial Gala for the 12th consecutive year on Friday night, following their 12th respective wins in the Alan Burt and Affies Gala the week before.

This also followed the school’s championship gala on Tuesday night at which U16 swimmer, Luca Holzhausen broke five individual records, including Chad le Clos’ 2008 50m butterfly record, and U17 swimmer Guy Brooks broke two.

Both these swimmers went on to come 10th and 19th respectively in the men’s Midmar Mile on Sunday.

Luca’s exceptional swimming also added to the U16 team breaking two records in breaststroke and backstroke at Friday night’s gala.
