Girl (10) drowns in Westville swimming pool on New Year’s Day
Despite 45 minutes of resuscitation efforts, the child was declared deceased on the scene.
A TEN-YEAR-old girl drowned in the Westville public pool yesterday, 1 January.

According to Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson, paramedics were called to the pool and found that the life guards had rescued the girl and were performing CPR as there were signs of life.
“Advance life paramedics began resuscitation efforts and despite 45 minutes of resuscitation efforts the child was declared deceased on the scene,” said Jamieson.
