Gear up for jolly nature reserve trail run
Grab your best Christmas outfit as entries are now open for KZN Trail Running's final event of the year.
KZN Trail Running’s final event of the year is its festive evening family fun run in the WESSA uMngeni Valley Nature Reserve in Howick on Saturday, 7 December.
Participants can choose to compete in the 5km or 12km events. Both routes explore the scenic and beautifully maintained trails of the uMngeni Valley Nature Reserve. The races are open to runners and walkers alike and set off at dusk.
Take along your head light or torch as it may be dark by the time you cross the finish line.
Runners and walkers are encouraged to dress up in their best Christmas outfit.
There will be a special 1km Santa Dash for youngsters, complete with milk and cookies waiting at the finish line. Parents can enjoy the fun with their little ones before they head out into the reserve on their own adventure.
The KZNTR KidZone will be open for children from two years and older.

Back in the race village, participants, their friends and their family will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy some delicious meals, refreshing drinks and top-quality coffee, whilst they enjoy the festive atmosphere.
There will be lucky draw prizes up for grabs and a special prize will be awarded for the best Christmas outfit.
Pre-entries for the event close at 10am on Friday, 6 December. Late entries will be available but a surcharge will be applied.
