The course runs for two weeks and on Friday, 15 November, 14 people graduated after successfully finishing the programme.

The NPO is based at Highway Christian Community Church.

“We run a 12-half day course which costs only R100 and entails a job readiness programme that teaches people how to conduct themselves in an interview, how to look for work, what their role is in a company and how to advance their career,” said teacher, Kirshnie Pather.

She said that at Siyasebenza, they believe the saying, ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.’

“Many of our students have been employed through our no cost job placement centre and we would like to encourage more businesses to open their doors to the students who have completed the course.

Registration is currently open, next course starts on Monday, 25 November. WhatsApp Kirshnie on 074 372 7248.
