Riders trot into new race

RIDERS of all ages geared up to participate in the inaugural Summerveld Endurance Fun Ride at the weekend.

It was open to all riders of any discipline and, despite the heat, was a success.

Depending on their level of fitness of both the horse and rider, there were two races to compete in, the 10km or 20km ride.

The organisers of the event include Mindy Watson, Anton Potgieter and Thomas Van Der Spay and each one devoted a large amount of their time and energy to develop their dream into reality.

“A special mention and congratulations must go to veteran rider, Binnie Walker, who was the oldest competitor on the field and is a true inspiration to all riders,” said one of the event organisers, Mindy Watson.

Mindy Watson thanked the supporters and sponsors who made the event possible.
