Waterfall College’s SPAR Star of the Month is Annika van de Linde.
She has danced with the Chelsea Blair Dance Company for four years and has been incredibly busy recently as she performed at the seventh annual Durban Dance Movement Festival at the Playhouse Theatre, at Dance@Kearsney and competed in the MOVE! National Dance Competition in Durban North.
Annika and her group achieved Top 3, second place with silver in the teen hip hop/urban category and qualified for the MOVE! Finals in Cape Town.
“It was an outstanding performance and the dancers were so proud of their achievement,” said her mom, Susanne Van De Linde.
Currently in Grade 8, Annika loves expressing herself through dance. She spends three to four hours a week doing jazz, hip hop and cabaret at the Chelsea Blair studio.
Annika has been at Waterfall Schools since the start of the year and loves the school’s small size and the personal attention it affords. She particularly enjoys maths and EMS.
“Annika is such a lovely girl, reliable and hardworking,” said Waterfall College teacher, Claribel Van Straaten. “She has a wonderful ability to balance the various aspects of her life, and always with a smile.”
