Renew vehicle licence at post office in Pine Crest

THE motor vehicle registration and licensing function is temporarily not available from Pinetown Main Post Office and Hillcrest Post Office, according to the Department of Transport.

The department advised motorists to go to the Pinetown Provincial Registering authority or the Westville Post Office.

However, Pine Crest Centre announced on its Facebook Page recently that the Post Office in-centre now offers motor vehicle licensing and renewal services for KwaZulu-Natal registrations.

According to centre management, Sue Jagesur, Pine Crest is pleased to see the Kings Road Post Office expand their service offering to include vehicle licence renewals.

“This will be extremely beneficial to our shoppers and has come at a time when Pine Crest has just been relaunched,” she said.

What to take:
Your identity document

Proof of residential address, for example a utility account. If the utility bill is not in your name, the owner of the bill must make an affidavit declaring that you live at the address and the utility bill must be attached to the affidavit.

If you stay at an informal settlement, you must bring a letter with an official date stamp from the ward councillor confirming your residential address.

Motor vehicle licence renewal notice (MVL2). If you did not receive a renewal notice, complete form ALV (Application for Licensing of Motor Vehicle).
