Durban race announces R250 000 prize pool

THE FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN celebrates its third anniversary on Sunday, 13 October and it will boast a whopping prize pool of R250 000.
“There has been no lack in excitement in the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN elite race, with the event delivering nail-biting performances in 2017 and 2018,” said managing director of Stillwater Sports, Michael Meyer.
“We’re excited to continue the action in 2019 and will be offering a R250 000 prize purse, both as motivation and as a reward, to local and international contenders.”
Prize money has been allocated to the top 10 finishers in the open category.
The open men’s and women’s winners will take home an impressive total of R30 000, the runners-up will receive R17 000 each and the final spot on the podium will securing R13 000. Juniors, veterans, masters, grand master and the 70+ age groupers will also earn prize money for first, second and third place.

The event will kick off at 7am at Blue Lagoon and will end at the beachfront precinct, near The Bike and Bean.
The standard entry is R185 (licensed) or R215 (unlicensed), the gold package entry is R850 (licensed) or R880 (unlicensed). entries close on Monday, 30 September.
When entering online, runners and walkers can choose to support one or all five Durban-based charities, The Reach For A Dream Foundation, TREE, Durban and Coast SPCA, LIV Village and/or iThemba Lethu.
