KHS learners go above and beyond

The dedicated staff and learners at Kloof High School dedicated 67 hours to Mandela Day projects this year.

INSTEAD of just doing the regular 67 minutes for Mandela Day, Kloof High School (KHS) completed 67 hours of giving back last week.

The learners spent their time at four different spots, with a few staff members and teachers in aid of Nelson Mandela Day.

On Monday and Tuesday, the learners spent the day teaching underprivileged children at Ndlokolo Primary School where KHS had previously revamped classrooms during the school holidays.

On Wednesday there was a railway clean-up at Stoker’s Arms and the following day a collection was done among the teachers and R1 000 was collected. This was used to buy goods needed by the Little Lambs Babies Home in Kloof.

A few members of the admin staff went along to spend some time with the babies.

To finish off the week with a bang, some of the charity drive money, as well as contributions from Kloof Village Mall SuperSPAR, were used to buy and deliver 11 bags of dog food to the Kloof SPCA. Learners also spent an hour feeding and playing with the animals.
