Mrs SA 2019 finalist counts down to Durban’s Totalsports Women’s Race

The race proudly supports the non-profit organisation, PinkDrive. The organisation is committed to improving breast cancer awareness and it will offer free clinical breast examinations at the event.

FOR the seventh consecutive year, well-known SA radio personality, businesswoman and Mrs SA 2019 finalist, Phindi Gule-Burley, will celebrate Women’s Day on Friday, 9 August, by motivating runners and walkers at the Totalsports Women’s Race in Durban.

“The Totalsports Women’s Race was the very first 10km race that I ran back in 2011,” said Phindi.

“This race will always be close to my heart. It made me fall in love with running and I have grown so much over the years as an athlete and broadcaster. I love that the event supports PinkDrive as this highlights the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. In all the running around and taking care of everyone, we (women) often forget to take care of ourselves.”

The venue for the event is the Kings Park Athletics Track and the 10km race starts at 8am while the 5km event will start at 8.15am.

The 2019 Totalsports Women’s Race boasts a whopping combined prize purse of R123 600, that’s a total of R 41 200 per city (Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town).

Each entrant will receive a fitted event T-shirt, a Totalsports head scarf and a finisher’s bracelet.

South African musician and dancer, Moonchild Sanelly, will close off the action of the Totalsports Women’s Race in Durban with an energetic live performance.

“I also look forward to building the suspense as we wait to see which elite runner will cross the finish line first. My advice to women is to finish what you started. You made it this far, keep moving forward (in every sphere of your life). Don’t quit, simply run your own race,” said Phindi.
