Miss SA semi-finalists announced

Five people from KZN and two from Durban have been chosen as semi-finalists in the Miss SA competition.

The top 35 women who will be vying for the 2019 Miss South Africa crown, on Women’s Day, 9 August has been announced.

The incredibly diverse group features, law students and graduates, nature conservation graduates, a private banker, photography company owners, humanity students and a parliamentary officer.

This year’s semi-finalists come from around the country, Gauteng boasting 19 contenders, followed by the Western Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal with five; the Eastern Cape and Free State with two, and Limpopo and the Northern Cape with one contender each.

The top 35 women will be out to impress this year’s semi-final judges, which include, Leandre Du Randt (actress, motivational speaker), 2015 Miss South Africa winner, Liesl Laurie; former runway model and casting director, Andiswa Manxiwa; Miss South Africa 2010 winner, Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala and Women’s Health editor, Danielle Weakley.

The top 16 will be announced on 11 July.
