You don’t want to miss the Box Cart Rally fun – get entering!

Some exciting prizes are up for grabs, including the Best Dressed Team and the Best-Looking Cart.

Forest View Primary School is presenting an exciting Box Cart Rally on Saturday, 20 July, complete with pit area, race track, marshals, safety officers and racing teams, that is open to scholars as well as outside teams.

The racing will get underway at 10am with registration opening at 8.30am but there will be no warm up laps on the  track which will be set up on the main field. Categories will include Class A – Primary School and Class B – Open (no age restrictions)

 

Prizes will be given for:

The Best Dressed Team,

The Best-looking Pit and Crew

The Best-Looking Cart,

The Fastest Cart, & The Slowest Cart.

 

The entry fee is R150 per Box Cart Rally team.

Teams must be made up of a minimum of two and a maximum of four members. For the primary school Class A teams, the “Pit Chief” MUST be an adult, or responsible teenager and  “The Driver” must be of primary school age and may not be older than 12 years (or Gr 7).

Due to the pushing nature of the event, the teams  may opt to have a younger and  fitter “Pusher”.

However, as this is a fun event the “Pusher” must be a responsible teenager for safety purposes. In the open Class B, participants must be over the age of 12 or above Grade 7.

Entrance for spectators is free and the school is encouraging all family, friends and the community to join in this fun day and help make this Box Cart festival an annual event on the Upper Highway calendar.

There will be lots of prizes up for grabs and maybe even a visit from a mystery celebrity! There will also be  a Bring and Braai after prize giving at around 3pm with the school supplying the fires, and refreshments and food will be sold throughout the day.
