“Police visited the school to conduct a random search and were dismayed to find two 20-year-old Grade 11 learners selling cigarettes and tablets within the school premises,” said Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele.

“While the police were searching the learners they noticed a learner trying to run away by jumping over the fence. Police confronted him, and he was found in possession of 63 tablets which he sold to other learners at R5 each. It is believed that these tablets are used to mix with other substances to make an intoxicating concoction. The second learner was found selling cigarettes in the school,” said Manqele

The police confiscated the tablets, cigarettes and money from the two learners.
