Young gymnasts leap into action

Most clubs in KZN were represented as 290 gymnasts attended.

PINETOWN Gymnastics Club hosted a Level 1 to 3 invitational competition on Saturday, 13 April at their venue in Lahee Park, Pinetown.

Most clubs in KZN were represented as 290 gymnasts attended (50 boys and 240 girls).

“Many thanks to Pietermaritzburg based clubs and Vryheid Gymnastics Centre for making the effort to attend,” said Allan Chadwick from the Pinetown Gymnastics Club.

The purpose of the event was twofold; to give the gymnasts competition experience and the opportunity to improve their score and medal award as well as to prepare for the upcoming eThekwini district event on Saturday, 27 April, hosted at Durban North Gymnastics Club.

 

PMB Academy gymnasts, Lonathemba Tsinde and Mckayla Evans were the two gold medals recipients in their age group.

 

Notable achievers who scored 90 per cent and higher are:

Boys Level 1 – Evan Green (PMB Academy), Landon Dennis (PMB Academy), Level 2 – Ashton Barnard (PMB Academy), Level 3 -Triston Dutton (PMB Academy)

Girls Level 1 – Zoe Jonas and Georgia Naude (PMB Academy), Dane Potgieter, Mardri Straus and Tayler De Beer (Vryheid), Zama Manqele (Central), Level 2 – Nomahle Msomi (PMB Academy).
