Don’t get caught up in social media hype, says Highway investigator probing Westville mum’s kidnapping

As we reach the day which marks the first-week of her disappearance, authorities remain tight-lipped on the investigation into the kidnapping of Sandra Moonsamy, the daughter of Poonsamy and Lutchmee Naicker.

BRAD Nathanson, a private investigator from the Upper Highway area, has confirmed that he is investigating the kidnapping of Sandra Moonsamy, daughter of Poonsamy and Lutchmee Naicker, owners of logistics company, Crossmoor Transport.

He told the Highway Mail on Wednesday that he would urge people to report anything, but not to get too caught up with sensational rumours such as those circulating on social media over the weekend, despite it’s contents not having been confirmed.

Nathanson also wholeheartedly rubbished comments by social media ‘experts’ who theorised that the Westville mother might have staged her own kidnapping.

“Anyone who knows her and how much she loves those children of hers and her family would know that there is no chance this is the case,” he said.

“She is adored and adores them all. They are struggling with this. There is no way any mother who cares as much as she does could put her children through that.”

Nathanson also confirmed that his services as a private investigator had been retained by Inderan Naicker, Sandra’s brother.

The Highway Mail has received only a curt, “no comment,” from Hawks spokesman, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi, regarding the case.

The Highway Mail also spoke to a family member shortly before publishing this story who confirmed that all official statements from the family would be sent through its communications agency.

“We would like to reassure everyone that the family and all those investigating this case are working together with the Hawks to do whatever we can to ensure the safe return of Sandra who is very loved. We are taking all the information we receive seriously and investigating it thoroughly,” they said.

The family announced yesterday, through intermediaries, that they would offer a reward for information leading to the safe return of Sandra.
