Husband stabbed during Ashley house robbery

The victim and his wife were asleep, when the suspect entered their home.

AN ASHLEY resident was stabbed in the early hours of today, (Thursday, 28 March) when a man broke into his home.

Pinetown Cluster communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele said it is alleged the victim (26) and his wife were sleeping at their home in Mariannhill Road, Ashley when they noticed some movement inside the bedroom.

“They woke up and saw a man leaving the bedroom and the husband followed the suspect. The husband was allegedly stabbed several times by the suspect.

“The suspect tried to run away but was arrested by the neighbour who then phoned the police,” said Manqele.

Three cell phones were recovered from the suspect and were handed over to the victims. The injured victim was rushed to hospital.

The arrested suspect will be charged with house robbery and will appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon.
