Hillcrest’s Jennifer Jones lives her life by design
The vibrant designer is not all about interior design she has other hobbies that include, painting, sewing, hiking with friends and anything 'outdoorsy', but it is clear, even outside of work, her creative artistic edge remains.
COLOURFUL Hillcrest based interior designer, Jennifer Jones, will bring nothing but the wow factor to Decorex Durban with her design of the 36 square metre main attraction.
Jones, who has been doing Decorex exhibitions since 2001, promises many surprising elements.
“This time the stand I do will be different, very architectural, compared to the room settings I usually show,” said Jones.Decorex Durban, will take place at the Durban Exhibition Centre from 21 to 24 March.
According to Jones, the exhibition is a great opportunity for potential clients to meet face to face with the designers. “It makes the designers accessible,” she said.
The outgoing, mother of one has been in the interior design business for 25 years and says her recent move to Hillcrest has made it viable for business and easier to raise her daughter at the same time.
“Hillcrest is a great place for my business and the bonus is that my daughter loves it here and adores her new school. The move has afforded me more time with my daughter,” she said.
Jones is family oriented and loves her friends which is why it makes sense that she loves hosting and entertaining in her home.

“I’m very passionate about my home, I am very blessed to have the amazing group of friends that I have, friends make life worth it,” she added.
When asked what a day in the life of Jennifer Jones looks like, she mentioned that she has to drop off her daughter, Amber-lynn at school at 5.45am.
“As a single mom, there is a lot to do especially in the morning. I try to be back at the office by 3pm, pick my daughter up so we can spend some time together as I wrap up my day at the office,” she said.

For the next few weeks ahead of the exhibition she can be found in her Hillcrest studio picking fabrics from her large library of samples, matching colours, all while juggling new and old clients.
