Hillcrest road repairs makes commuting a breeze

Alverstone Road in Hillcrest recently underwent a series of much-needed repairs thanks to the local PR councillor.

THRILLED is only one of the many positive emotions DA PR Ward Councillor, Gill Noyce, used to describe the resurfacing along parts of Alverstone Road in Hillcrest.

Noyce covers Ward 8 and Ward 103 and said she has written to the Department of Transport for more than a year about the terrible state of the road.

“As this is at the bottom of the hill, and there is no drainage, the water sits here and the potholes continuously form. I am so grateful that they have not just filled in the potholes but replaced large strips of the road,” said Noyce.

“This refurbishment will assist a lot of the people who use it to bypass the centre of Hillcrest. I can only hope that they won’t leave the rubble on the side of the road behind them when they leave,” she said.

Noyce said the next project she will tackle is along Blessing Ninela Road.

“It is covered in potholes and when they are filled, the filling does not last. Some of them are deep enough to burst a tyre very easily,” said Noyce.
