Fabulous reads – Penultimate novel will take you on an epic journey

Book review - Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass #6) by SJ Maas.

IT’S almost as if everything SJ Maas touches turns to gold.

This is the official sixth gripping novel in the bestselling Throne of Glass series. It follows Chaol Westfall and Nesryn as they journey to Antica to not only seek much-needed allies in the war to come, but also in the hopes of receiving aid from the acclaimed healers of the Torre Cesme.

Spared from a killing blow, Chaol is paraplegic and wheelchair bound. He feels confined, useless and is haunted day in and day out by the ghosts of his countless broken promises and poor choices.

It is in Antica that Chaol meets the enigmatic Yrene Towers, the suspected successor to the Healer on High. Battling her own demons, the duo will explore unknown territory in healing while facing a faceless, nameless and by no means less deadly threat.

It is absolutely mind-blowing to see how SJ Maas created and introduced this whole new continent that thrums with a life of its own. Her world-building is simply breathtaking.

The characters, new and old, the lore and the story arc is intricately woven and will have you racing through a range of emotions as you reach the last few pages.

Yes, there is some lag at the beginning of the book as Antica, it’s people and the royal family are introduced – but trust me, it’s worth it in the end.

Speaking of gold – the gorgeous cover for the final book is absolutely covered in it. Keep a lookout for my spoiler free review in the next review issue.
