It has taken many years of dedication, training and sheer guts, but both 2016 and 2018 proved to be his years. Not only did he achieve gold in the 400m hurdles for the 35-year-age group at the SA Masters Champs in 2016, but he also broke the All African record as well as the SA record.

He recently made his way to Spain to compete in the World Masters Championships where he won the 400m hurdles which made him the best in the world in the 35 to 39-year-old age group.

In university he also won the gold at the World Student Games in Bangkok in 2007.
