Fabulous reads – No escaping book’s action-packed pages

Book review - Escape by Linwood Barclay.

Escape, Linwood Barclay, Pan Macmillan

BARCLA, an international best-selling author of more than 17 novels, has seemingly taken a different stance with his latest novels as they are a little different from his norm.

Escape is the second installment of his children’s series, Chase, which has been widely well received thus far.

Twelve-year-old Jeff, and his trusty sidekick Chipper, are on the run. Chipper is no ordinary dog though. Genetically engineered and modified, Chipper and Jeff escape some tight spots all the while evading capture from The Institute. The Institute has been experimenting on dogs and children and with the added mix of sci-fi and the future, things quickly spin out of control.

A fast-paced, simple and easy read for children from aged nine to 11. In a nutshell it as a funny, heart-warming story of loyalty and friendship.
