WOMEN gathered to support the first Subz Spring Fling High Tea fund-raiser for Project Dignity at Kloof Country Club last Wednesday.

This marine scientist, PADI dive instructor, zodiac skipper, sailor and committed ocean conservationist said according to the World Wide Fund, there are 150 tonnes of plastic in the ocean today. “”If we continue on this trajectory, the ocean will contaibn one tonne of plastic for every three tonnes of fish by 2025 and by 2050, the oceans will have more plastic than fish (by weight) in them.

The jovial MC was Jo-Anne Barnwell, a Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa finalist and an ambassador for Project Dignity. She participates in the activations, motivating and connecting with young women at schools. She is also a national ballroom dance, professional chef and restaurateur.
