Missing Hillcrest girl found in Port Shepstone

A 45-year-old man was arrested and is expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court.

PORT Shepstone police arrested a 45-year-old suspect yesterday (Sunday, 12 August) after a local missing girl was found at his home.

The 11-year-old was reported missing last month. A case was opened at Hillcrest Police Station and handed over to Pinetown FCS.

“An extensive investigation led police to the Bhobhoyi area with the assistance of the community members after the picture of the missing child was seen in print media,” said KZN police spokesperson, Col Thembeka Mbele.

“The suspect was immediately arrested and detained at Hillcrest police station. He will appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court today, Monday, 13 August. The missing girl was taken to hospital for a medical check-up,” said Mbele.
