Curro players smash it on court

To top off their list of wins, three of their top tennis players were lucky enough to jet off to Switzerland to test their skills.

CURRO Hillcrest’s tennis team has remained undefeated in the tennis league this year. To add to the excitement, three of its learners have jetted off to Switzerland to test their skills against Europe’s best.

James Edley, Alex Edley and Luc Koenig are three of the top tennis players in South Africa. All three form part of the South African national squad as well as Curro Hillcrest’s 1st team.

They will be trained at the state of the art Swiss National Centre in Biel for three weeks until 30 June.

The trio will be integrated into the Swiss national U16 team training programme and exposed to some of the best coaching Switzerland has to offer. They will also be playing in three European tournaments as they look to test their skills against top international competition.

“This is in line with our plan to give the players in our schools the necessary exposure to excel in their sports,” said the director of tennis at Curro Hillcrest, Jared Temlett.

“Tennis at Curro Hillcrest is red hot at the moment. The school has geared itself on becoming the best tennis playing school in the country with eight KZN, three SA schools and 18 nationally ranked players.”
