Fabulous reads – Goodbyes are always difficult

Book review - Still Me (Me Before You #3) by Jojo Moyes.

Still Me (Me Before You #3), Jojo Moyes, Penguin Random House, ISBN: 9780718183196

READING this novel was akin to being given every episode of the final season of your favourite TV show. There is basically no choice but to binge and then sit for days afterwards, staring vacantly into space while you process that this is really the end.

Emelia Clarke played the character Lou so well in the film adaptation of Me Before You, that my mind couldn’t help but have her reprise her role as I simply devoured every square inch of this book.

ALSO READ: Fabulous reads – Romance novel packs a hearty punch

Lou has arrived in the Big Apple (spoiler), to much laughter, and has been hired as an assistant to the wife of one of the richest men in New York. If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.

Her character is much of the same, bubbly, friendly, reliable, witty and downright hilarious. The way Jojo Moyes has written Lou, from her view of the world and its inhabitants will only leave you with a sense of wonder.

The book is filled with plot twists, love, heartache, heartbreak and possibly a few of your shed tears. The ending, please don’t do more than three Jojo, was perfect. It is exactly what Lou deserved and probably not what readers saw coming.
