Teachers and learners from the Molweni Circuit who did well last year were were awarded trophies and certificates.

SCHOOLS under the Molweni Circuit which achieved outstanding results in 2018 were awarded at the Pinetown Civic Centre on Wednesday, 9 May.

The ceremony did not only acknowledge matrics but learners from all Grades including primary schools.

The circuit’s events motivation chairman, Siboniso Hlengwa, said learners in primary schools also need to be encouraged and motivated to work hard and be awarded so that they can work hard in high school.

Teachers who received 100 per cent in subjects they teach and learners who do well in academics and extracurricular activities received certificates and trophies.

“We need to promote the talent of learners as some may do well in academics and others at certain sports,” said Hlengwa.

The annual function was attended by teachers and principals from the 30 schools in the Molweni area.

Circuit manager, Mduduzi Makhanya, handed over the certificates to the well-deserved winners.

An award for Most Improved School went to Khabazela High School in Embo and the trophy for the top school in the district was taken by Kwabazothini School, Ngcolosi, which received a 98 per cent matric pass rate in 2018.
