WESTVILLE detectives are appealing for any information in two separate incidents of culpable homicide.

Capt Elizabeth Squires, communications officer at Westville SAPS said in the first incident – a pedestrian was crossing the road on the M13 opposite the Westville Veterinary Clinic on Wednesday, 25 April at 6pm when a white Toyota Fortuner knocked him.

Paramedics were on scene and confirmed the man’s death.

Just before the paramedics arrived it is believed that “homeless” boys had stolen the deceased’s bag that was in his possession at the time.

A bunch of keys with a remote was found in the pants pockets of the deceased.

“On interviewing the people that often hang around in the area, it was established that the deceased either works close to the vicinity where he was found or lives nearby because he had been seen there numerous times. We are trying to locate a next of kin, to date nobody has come forward with information,” said Squires.
